Bio:
Barry was born and raised in Concordia Parish, LA near Lake St. John. He is the fourth generation owner of the 500 acre family farm that consists of 300 acres of row crop and 200 acres of recreational land. Barry graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1970 with a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Business and then spent fourteen years with Production Credit Association making agricultural loans in Concordia and Catahoula Parish. From 1984 to 1987, he was in ag equipment sales with Ferriday Farm Equipment before joining the Federal Land Bank of Jackson in receivership where he was responsible for selling distressed properties in central and northeast LA. For the past 17 years, he has served as Vice President and Agricultural Lender for Britton & Koontz Bank in Natchez, MS from which he retired in January 2008. Barry is also a 1983 graduate of the Missouri Auction School and is presently licensed in both LA and MS. He is a member of both the National Auctioneers Association and the LA Auctioneers Association. He has been performing charity benefit and liquidation auctions the last 25 years and now plans to move into the real estate market. Barry presently serves as Vice President and a commissioner on the Fifth LA Levee District Board, a position he has held for over 20 years. He is also president of the Ferriday Rotary Club where he has been a member for the last 28 years. He has been married to Anne Hall for the last 38 years and they are the proud parents of Elizabeth M. Williams and Mitchell Maxwell, who together have provided Barry with five beautiful grandchildren.
