Carlton and his wife, Johnnie live in the Marydell community, near Carthage, Mississippi. They are owners of timber land in the county, where Carlton, their two sons and grandchildren enjoy hunting, fishing and working to improve the timber stand. Carlton and Johnnie are members of Bethel Baptist Church. Carlton is a member of a local hunting club, Leake County and Mississippi Forestry Associations, former Ex-Officio member of the Leake County Industrial Development Association,former member of the Board of Directors of Leake County Chamber of Commerce, former member & President of the County Board of Supervisors, Secretary of a local volunteer fire department, and president of a community water association. Carlton graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Mississippi Real Estate Institute and obtained his Real Estate License from the Mississippi Real Estate Commission in 1999. Carlton began his real estate career with Jack Lowe Real Estate of Kosciusko, Mississippi in March 1999. In 2005 he became an agent for Mossy Oak Properties Howell & Howell Estates and Land of Carthage Mississippi. On December 8, 2006 Carlton was selected as Real Estate Agent of the year for his excellent efforts in real estate sales. In September 2009, Carlton successfully completed the Mossy Oak Properties, Inc. "Certified Land Specialist" 16 week training course. Carlton retired from USDA Rural Development in 1996, after 31 years of service. In this position he was involved in financing real estate, community facilities, water & sewer projects, farms, residential and commercial property. This experience with USDA and working with the public will be an asset in assisting clients and customers in locating and/or selling property. In 2001 the Leake County Chamber of Commerce selected Carlton as Man of the year for his outstanding service to the citizens of Leake County. He is a graduate of Leadership Leake, as a result of his successful completion of the Leadership Course.
