Steffan was born and raised on the South Plains of Texas, graduating from Lazbuddie H.S. in 1981. Irrigated corn, cotton, and wheat was the way of life. He attended Texas Tech University and completed his education at Eastern New Mexico with a B.S. Degree in Education and a Assoc. Degree in Petroleum Resources. Steffan has been self-employed as a contract Landman doing minerals, leases and ROW work. He lives in Breckenridge Texas with his wife Carolyn and their daughters Brooklyn, Brecka and Maci.
