Wyoming grows completely massive mule deer especially out in the Red Desert of Sweetwater County the foothills of the Wind River Range and the Bighorn Basin. Wyoming actually holds over half of all the pronghorn antelope in the entire world making it the absolute best place to see massive herds running across the prairie. According to the 2026 Wyoming Game and Fish Department regulations every single out of state antelope hunter must apply through the strict lottery draw system by June 1.

Ranches in Sweetwater Carbon Fremont Natrona and Goshen counties hold massive antelope herds all year long because the animals love the wide open native grass.
