Alex Rich
Alex Rich was born in Elizabeth City, NC and has grown up between there and his family's farm in Hyde County hunting and fishing since the age of 8. Alex graduated from N.C. State's College of Management in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a concentration in Finance. Alex worked summers in college on the Outer Banks and in Ocracoke in various jobs relating to fishing beginning with cleaning fish at Pirates Cove Marina in Manteo then mating on charter boats and private boats fishing offshore on charters and in billfish tournaments.
After graduation he worked in the financial services industry at Principal Financial Group in Raleigh until getting his Real Estate license in 2008 and joining his father in the family Real Estate business at Elizabeth City branch of The Rich Company. Alex took over operations at The Rich Company of Elizabeth City in 2010 and Alex has been focusing exclusively on NE NC Commercial Real Estate sales and leasing, sales of farmland, timber, and recreational properties, with land sales being what he is most passionate about doing more of. Alex is excited to affiliate with Mossy Oak NC Land and Farms Realty to increase his exposure for his current land listings and hopes to increase his presence to serve new clients with additional land listings under the Mossy Oak brand.
Alex is a lifelong member and former Vestry member of Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City where he was baptized, where he married his wife Jessica in 2008, and where his 10 year old son Barrett and 5 year old daughter Josie have been baptized. When he is not working on selling Real Estate or spending quality time with his family, he can be found anywhere across Eastern NC fishing in the Albemarle or Pamlico Sounds and rivers chasing stripers, drum, trout, offshore fishing, or hunting for doves, quail, ducks, turkey, deer and bear at Rich Farms in Hyde County.
"Alex helped my family and I sell a large waterfront tract of land in Bertie County recently. My father had purchased the land with an eye towards selling it to a developer but when that fell through in 2016 there didn't seem to be any other viable options. Alex put in a lot of time keeping interest in the property going. When Bertie County itself expressed an interest Alex worked diligently to help get some difficult easement issues resolved. We were able to close the deal and Alex was instrumental in that transaction. It was a pleasure to work with him and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to sell land in the Eastern half of NC. Because of Alex's efforts we never actually had to step foot on the property but he gave us a tour of it the day we came up from SC to get our closing proceeds since we had yet to see it in person."
