Caleb Hooker
Born and raised in the rolling foothills of Stokes County, North Carolina, Caleb grew up in the shadow of the Sauratown Mountains and Hanging Rock State Park. His family's deep roots in the hills and hollows of Stokes County stretch across the border into Patrick and Henry County, Virginia. The front porch view of Cooks Wall from his family’s tobacco and cattle farm serves as a constant reminder of the land and legacy that shaped him.
Caleb’s deep connection to the outdoors stems from a childhood spent farming, hunting, and fishing. From turning over rocks in the East Prong of the Little Yadkin River in search of crawfish, to learning the art of stalking whitetail deer from his father, his love of the land grew with every season. His parents’ love of Bluegrass and Gospel music, richly woven into the culture of the region, further grounded him in tradition and community.
Guided by his family's faith, strong work ethic, and traditional American values, Caleb enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating high school. He served honorably for 20 years as an Intelligence Chief and Analyst, retiring in 2018 as a Master Sergeant. Over the course of his career, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal four times.
While his military service took him around the world, it ultimately led him to the greatest journey of all—meeting his wife, Carie. Today, Caleb and Carie live in Smithfield, Isle of Wight County, Virginia, where they spend as much time as possible outdoors backpacking and hiking throughout the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Caleb sought a way to reconnect with the land and share his passion for the outdoors with others. That calling led him to Mossy Oak Properties Land and Farms Realty, where he began his second career as a real estate professional. As a Certified Land Specialist, Caleb blends firsthand outdoor experience with in-depth knowledge of land regulations, property prep, and marketing strategies—including trail clearing and capturing stunning photos and video.
Whether you're a buyer or a seller, Caleb’s integrity, work ethic, and commitment to excellence ensure you’re in good hands. Let his passion for the outdoors, love of the land, and vision for your goals turn your real estate dreams into reality.
