Coleman Chapman

My connection to the land started at an early age as I was fortunate enough to grow up with generational farms on both sides of my family. One is located in Montgomery County, Tennessee and the other just across the state line in Todd County, Kentucky. The Kentucky farm started as a cattle/tobacco operation but both are primarily row crop operations today. 

These two places shaped me into the person I am today and gave me a greater appreciation for land stewardship, conservation, agriculture, and spending quality time with family and friends outdoors. This upbringing led me to earn a degree in Agricultural Economics from The University of Tennessee Knoxville. 

After graduation, I owned a residential home improvement company and in the last two years I have transitioned into a role as a Project Manager for a commercial construction company. My construction experience has allowed me to fine tune my negotiation skills, develop a strong understanding of contracts and budgets, and work through the complexities of managing a project from start to finish. Communication, attention to detail, and working with owners/contractors are skills that will directly translate into my real estate career. 

During my time off you can find me enjoying one of Tennessee’s beautiful river systems or lakes, exploring the bottomlands of West Tennessee chasing waterfowl with my yellow lab Bonnie, or spending time on the farm with my daughter and wife. My wife and I are raising our daughter the same way we were raised to admire and appreciate what the land gives.

I’ve also developed a passion for collecting and selling vintage Mossy Oak camouflage over the years, which has connected me to fellow outdoorsmen. I’ve enjoyed getting these vintage pieces back into the outdoors where they belong, while helping pass along the heritage and traditions that Mossy Oak has represented for generations.

In 2019 my family and I were clients of Mossy Oak Properties Tennessee Land & Farm when purchasing a duck hunting property in West Tennessee. I remember the excitement I had to be working out the details of the transaction. It makes it even more special now to be a part of the team as a land agent. 

My ultimate goal in joining Mossy Oak Properties is to assist and guide others to help find a property where they too can find a connection with the land, wildlife, waterways, and the peace the great outdoors can provide.
