Curtis Berry
Curtis Berry was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised just down the road on his family's farm straddling the Tunica and DeSoto County line. He still lives there today, deeply rooted in the same Delta soil that shaped his work ethic and lifelong connection to the land. Curtis and his wife, Lori, have built a strong family together with their four children: Caroline, Emma, Mary Sue, and Curt. A passionate outdoorsman from a young age, Curtis has always found purpose in stewardship—whether of land, people, or community.
Curtis is a 1996 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned a degree in Agricultural Economics. Before entering the world of real estate and land investment, he spent over 25 years as a highly respected rice farmer. His passion for productivity and sustainable agriculture earned him national recognition. He graduated from the prestigious Rice Leadership Development Program in 2005 and went on to be named RiceTec Mid-South Cooperator of the Year (2007), Delta Council Rice Farmer of the Year (2008), USA Rice Federation Rice Farmer of the Year (2009), and Conservation Tillage Rice Farmer of the Year (2010). His commitment to conservation and innovation in agriculture continues to guide his professional and personal life.
Curtis has also played a key role in agricultural leadership. He has served as Chairman of the Tunica County Farm Bureau, Mississippi Rice Council, and Mississippi Rice Promotion Board, as well as Chairman of the USA Rice Farmers. He also served on the Delta Council Board of Directors, where he contributed to broader policy and advocacy efforts that support Mississippi Delta agriculture. He currently serves Tunica County as a Commissioner of the Yazoo-Mississippi Joint Water Management District which manages and safeguards the water resources of the Mississippi Delta.
Beyond his agricultural and business achievements, Curtis has always prioritized giving back to his community. He has served as President of the Tunica Rotary Club, President of the Board of Tunica Academy, Assistant Scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 16, and a Board Member of the Tunica County Chamber of Commerce. His deep faith is central to his life, and he currently serves as an Elder in the Tunica Presbyterian Church.
In 2011, Curtis founded C.A. Berry Land Co., which now owns and manages over 3,200 acres of precision-leveled farmland and an additional 400 acres of preserved wildlife habitat. He also established Genesis Outdoors, a premier recreational venture featuring a 60-acre trophy bass lake and 12 professionally managed duck pits across 2,000 acres of flooded rice fields—an outdoor paradise for sportsmen and conservationists alike.
Today, Curtis brings his rich background in agriculture, land investment, and outdoor property management to his role as a Mossy Oak Properties agent. He understands the unique challenges that landowners, farmers, and rural families face—and he’s passionate about helping them protect what matters most. Whether you’re looking to buy or sell farmland or recreational property, Curtis’s firsthand experience and deep regional knowledge make him a trusted advisor.
