Dave Hegler
Timothy David “Dave” Hegler is a seasoned forestry and land professional with more than 30 years of experience across the Southeastern United States. A native of Kershaw County, South Carolina, Dave has built a career rooted in stewardship, trust, and long-term land value, with a strong business footprint throughout the Pee Dee region and beyond.
Over the course of his career, Dave has managed more than 100,000 acres of timberland and has been directly involved in numerous institutional land and timber transactions with an aggregate value exceeding $100 million. His experience spans timberland management, acquisitions and dispositions, land valuation, and advisory services for private landowners, families, and institutional investors.
Dave is a 1993 graduate of Clemson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. He spent over three decades in the forest industry, rising through senior leadership roles and ultimately serving as Chairman of the Board of Milliken Forestry Company for five years. His leadership experience includes operational oversight, strategic planning, and governance at the highest levels of a multi-regional forestry organization.
He is the owner and founder of Frontier Forestry Group, LLC, a consulting forestry firm serving the Upstate, Midlands, Pee Dee, and Lowcountry of South Carolina, as well as southern North Carolina. Frontier Forestry Group is built on principles of integrity, practical expertise, and a deep respect for landownership, legacy, and working landscapes.
In addition to his professional career, Dave is a private pilot with a lifelong passion for general aviation, an interest that reflects his appreciation for precision, disciplined decision-making, and perspective. He also enjoys coastal fishing and upland bird hunting, pursuits that reinforce his connection to land, wildlife, and the outdoors he has spent his career managing and protecting.
Dave and his wife are raising their daughter, a third-generation Clemson student, continuing a family legacy of education, tradition, and connection to place. He remains deeply committed to faith, family, and community, and takes pride in helping landowners make informed decisions that honor both the economic and generational value of their property.
