Straight talk about your land, farm, or country home—no pressure, no obligation, just clear advice.
Timothy David “Dave” Hegler is a seasoned rural land professional with more than 30 years of experience across the Southeastern United States. A native of Kershaw County, South Carolina, Dave has built his career helping landowners and rural property owners understand the true value of their land, farms, and country homes—economically, operationally, and generationally.
Over the course of his career, Dave has managed more than 100,000 acres of timberland and has been involved in rural land and property transactions totaling more than $100 million. His background spans land and timber management, rural property valuation, acquisitions and dispositions, and advisory services for families, private landowners, and institutional investors.
Dave is a 1993 graduate of Clemson University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. He spent more than three decades in the land and forest industry, including senior leadership roles and five years as Chairman of the Board of Milliken Forestry Company. This experience gives him a practical, on-the-ground understanding of how soils, timber, access, improvements, and land use influence value—whether the property is a working farm, a recreational tract, or a rural homestead.
He is the owner and founder of Frontier Forestry Group, LLC, an independent consulting firm serving the Upstate, Midlands, Pee Dee, and Lowcountry of South Carolina, as well as southern North Carolina. Frontier Forestry Group provides landowners with objective advice related to land management, timber value, and long-term stewardship.
As an agent with Mossy Oak Properties Land Professionals Group, Dave applies this broader land expertise to the sale of rural homes, farms, recreational properties, and timberland. His approach emphasizes informed decision-making, transparency, and alignment with each landowner’s goals—rather than pressure or one-size-fits-all solutions.
Outside of work, Dave is a private pilot and lifelong outdoorsman who enjoys coastal fishing and upland bird hunting. He and his wife are raising their daughter, a third-generation Clemson student, continuing a family legacy rooted in faith, education, and community. Dave takes pride in helping people make thoughtful decisions about land and rural property that honor both financial value and family legacy.
