Description
The Oso Ridge 40 borders 30,000+ acres of the Cibola National Forest. Located a few miles south of Ramah, New Mexico and elevation is 7400'+. Tree cover consists of many Ponderosa Pine, Cedar, and Pinon. Access is currently walk in only although easement is in place which provides for development of a road in. If a rugged and remote camping or hunting property is what your looking for this place is worth considering. Game Unit 10 is well known for some of the largest trophy elk in New Mexico. Harvested bulls easily score above 350". The property is "Not" currently enrolled in the EPlus Landowner program although one can certainly make application for the 2027 season. If primitive camping in the forest is your pastime, this is the perfect spot to spend your weekends. There are no utilities on site. Power is approximately 1/2 mile away and wells in the area range about 400ft in depth. Fencing is in place on the south, west and north property lines. The adjoining 40 acre parcel to the east may be available for purchase as well. Further details are available upon request.
Directions:
From Grants, NM take Hwy 53 south and west towards Ramah, NM. Right on BIA 135 to Furguson Rd, left on Strauss Rd left. Gates are locked, no public access.
