Red Canyon Ranch is every hunter's dream in prime Whitetail and Mule Deer Country. This turnkey hunters paradise is located South of Childress Texas,, known for its high-quality deer population. This ranch has been under the same ownership for the last 20+ years and nothing has been overlooked. Everything on this ranch has been well thought out from the strict wildlife management to the hunter's camp. This ranch is a one of a kind place that has as much character in the terrain from the deep draws to the massive hillside with outstanding views and the attention to detail that the owner had when developing this ranch. This ranch will be sold as a true turn-key ranch and all you need to do is bring your rifle to start hunting.

Cabins and Improvements

Imagine sitting around the campfire with friends and family telling stories about that day's hunt. The campsite has been meticulously maintained and the layout well thought out. From the main hunter cabin to the eight additional cabins, there is plenty of room for your fellow hunters. The main cabin has 3 beds and 2 baths for the ranch patriarch to enjoy. Each additional cabin is around 450 square feet with its own bathroom and closet. There is a community kitchen for the eight cabins to share and for the camp cook to prepare supper as well as a shared laundry room. The insulated 40x40 barn has everything you need to maintain the ranch, clean your deer, and keep it cool in the Eskimo walk-in cooler. For a full list of all improvements please contact the listing agents.

Hunting and Wildlife

Red Canyon Ranch is what every true hunter has dreamed of. From the massive canyon systems that provide excellent habitat for mule deer to the thick cover for whitetails, this is truly one of the best hunting ranches in West Texas. The ranch owners have a strict management plan that has allowed the deer to reach their full potential with multiple 170+ inch whitetail and mule deer being harvested. There are also deep creek bottoms with mature cottonwood trees where turkeys are known to roost. The thick cover creates many hiding spots for quail and a hunter would have many opportunities to run into multiple coveys in an afternoon. There is very little pressure on the wildlife in this area as there are large neighbors on all sides of the ranch and it is on a dead-end road. The neighbor to the south is the Buckle L ranch, a 37,000-acre ranch with very little hunting pressure and the dead-end road keeps the road traffic to a minimum.

Food Plots and tanks

There are 11 food plots encompassing over 84 acres of wheat fields that supply additional feeding ground. Each food plot is strategically placed around the ranch to ensure that the wildlife has year-round food.   It is common to see 50+ whitetail and mule deer mixed in with each other in the large 65-acre food plot on a November afternoon during the rut. There are also 14 ponds with 3 of them being over 1 acre in size, which provide excellent fishing and duck hunting opportunities.

Roads and Infrastructure

There are over 25 miles of highly maintained road infrastructure that any truck or side-by-side could travel on without getting a scratch. The roads were well planned to ensure easy access to each stand without disturbing any deer as you sneak in for a morning hunt. The campsite is strategically placed to not interfere with any hunting setups.
