Inaugural “Mossy Oak Properties National Day of Conservation” a success

Mossy Oak Properties National Day of Conservation

WEST POINT, MS-Advocating for conservation initiatives and supporting conservation organizations has long been a corporate emphasis of the Mossy Oak family of companies.  The recent Mossy Oak Properties National Day of Conservation-held Saturday, September 28th-put conservation into action for the Mossy Oak Properties network, Mossy Oak family, and many others who responded to the initial challenge video issued by Mossy Oak’s Toxey Haas and Cuz Strickland.

Across the country, participants held conservation events such as tree giveaways, trash cleanups, birdhouse construction workshops, and planted wildflowers.  Locally, members from the Mossy Oak and Mossy Oak Properties corporate organizations held a tree giveaway and restored handicapped access to waterfowl hunting and wildlife viewing areas at the Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee Wildlife Refuge near Starkville, Mississippi.

Long standing conservation partners of Mossy Oak, the National Wild Turkey Federation and Quality Deer Management Association, held events at their respective headquarters, and notable conservationists such as Ted Nugent, Jeff Foxworthy, and Drury Outdoors answered the challenge.

The total effort left Mossy Oak Properties CEO/President and Co-Founder Chris Hawley speechless.  “We were blown away at how the Mossy Oak Properties network, Mossy Oak family, and others throughout the outdoor industry took our simple challenge and made a difference in our first year effort.   We feel we have laid the groundwork for a special event that will further spark awareness for conservation and stewardship of the land.”

Mossy Oak Founder and Chairman Toxey Haas, seconded Hawley’s sentiment, saying: “To see how everyone turned a love of the land and conservation into action in their own communities was pretty incredible to witness.  I would challenge everyone to keep the spirit of this event alive throughout the year, and to always remember the good we do will live long after we are gone.”
