New Africa Farm
Description
The New Africa Road farm is comprised of three tracts, one of which is split by New Africa Road. This tract contains 84.06 total acres with 81.7 being cropped and most of it is landformed and irrigated. A small portion on the east side of the road is dryland with some wooded acreage along the Sunflower River. The soils are mostly Class I and II very fine sandy loam. It has execellent access along both sides of the road. The second tract lies west of Highway 322 and north of South State Street. It is accessed from 322 and South State Street. The soils for this portion, which has 30 acres irrigated by a well on the adjoining property, are mostly Class III Alligator and Forestdale. It contains a total of 68.8 acres with 56.7 being in cultivation.
