36-acre Timber Land for Sale in Pitt County NC! Looking for the right property to hunt or build your country getaway, then check out this 36-acre Timber Land for Sale in Grimesland, NC. If youve been trying to find that perfect spot full of wildlife, or a home site on a quiet road with little traffic and plenty of privacy, then this offering is for you! This manageable size farm has great road frontage on Poker House Road just outside of Grimesland, North Carolina and is very near the banks of the Tar River. The farm consists of 23 acres of 15 plus year old pines and 14 acres of mature hardwoods along the western border.
There is plenty of room for tree stands and shooting boxes on the wood lines and field corners. We spotted several nice trees ideal for two man ladder stands where you can have a full view of the field openings and transition areas overlooking the hardwoods along the western border. There is a gorgeous drop off along the west of the path that leads to an open wooded area, with mature timber, behind the field edge where a mature buck would travel in route to and from the agriculture. Pitt County is known for great deer, bear, and turkey hunting, every year some of the highest harvest numbers are reported here.
Imagine nestling your home back in the pines, out of site from the road, with all the peace and quiet you deserve. There is an excellent path system through out the farm, where you could enjoy a nice walk in the woods or a ride around the property on your 4-wheeler or side-by-side. The pines have been hand planted and there are really nice openings and wildlife viewing areas. The northwest section has a fallow field, which could be reconverted into a garden or fenced in for pasture land. Either way there are tons of possibilities.
Nearby Grimesland Plantation was recently restored and is a real show place. The careful restoration was the work of Mr. Eddie Smith, a man who refused to watch a historic homesite die. Smith purchased Grimesland in 2008 and began the arduous process of down-to-the-studs renovation. (The firm that lifted the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse raised Grimeslands foundation.) Smith worked hand in hand with Preservation North Carolina, an organization that understands historical accuracy as well as practical livability. Hence the soapstone counters in the kitchen, and a dining room whose wall shade is possibly a wee bit brighter than the blue and gold paint colors original to the era.
Please be respectful of the landowner, this is private property and we kindly request for you set up a showing appointment before entering the property.
